London: Singer-turned-designer Victoria Beckham has revealed that she relies on the humble coconut oil to keep her skin smooth.
Instead of using expensive cosmetic products, the 42-year-old says coconut oil is better than anything on the market for moisturising one’s body, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
Sharing beauty tips in an interview for a TV show, Beckham shared that it is important to eat a “balanced diet packed with good fats such as avocado, nuts and lots of oily fish”.
“Number one I would say coconut oil. So I use coconut oil – the kind of oil that you would cook with – I use it all over my body as well because it’s really, really moisturising, so I would say coconut oil and always taking off your make-up before you go to bed,” she said.
The former Spice Girls star also shared her love for fashion and said that make-up was instilled in her as a child when she used to watch her mother Jackie get ready.
“I’ve been interested in beauty and make-up for as long as I can remember. I remember when I was really young and I was going to school and my mum would get out her lipstick from her bag and put a little bit of her lip on my cheek and she’d tell me that I looked a bit peaky and try to liven me up a little bit, if you like.
“I’ve always loved make-up, I’m very, very girly, I used to sit and watch my mum get ready, my mum is very glamorous and I remember sitting on her bed and watching her apply her make-up, get dressed and do her hair… I like to make the best of what I have, I’m not a supermodel, clearly, I’m not a make-up artist, I’m a real woman,” Beckham said.
